“Drawing inspiration from marine and botanical forms, as well as landscapes of the American West, my designs are created using both traditional and contemporary woodworking and finishing techniques. I prefer to work mainly with North American hardwoods, using the qualities and colors inherent in the material in combination with paint, texture, and pattern to create a unique and varied surface. I begin by connecting elements using traditional joinery, then proceed to shape and sculpt each piece, transforming it into an object that is intriguing and inviting to the user.”
