My works are stories, told with materials salvaged from dumpsters and wood shops scrap bins. Whether its a functional piece of furniture, or something less recognizable, I make things that move, that reveal hidden compartments, telescoping drawers, sections that crank in and out, or bits that slowly unfurl from 10 feet to 18. My goal is to lure people in with odd joinery, drawers, or intricate patterns and then delight them with some secret treasure. To invite them into my world.

My materials and building methods are often unconventional, but familiar. I build quickly, intuitively, working from sketches, and editing or adding elements as I need to. I rough out shapes or parts without preconceived ideas of how they’ll go together and then spend the majority of my time on the details. I draw on the wood, I draw with the wood, adding layers to the already worn surfaces and leaving hints of a previous purpose and owner.
