I am surrounded by multiples everywhere I look. When I accumulate mundane objects, they become special in my jewelry. Magnets and dried beans become precious gems and pins become polished silver. The familiar becomes extraordinary. I explore and question the value of common everyday material by placing them together. Working with mundane elements makes my work accessible to more people. Through repetition and embracing chance, my work visualizes a sense of action. Thinking about groups, clusters, and pile, I play with everyday materials. Through the act of gathering, everyday objects undergo a transformation. Everyday objects become precious. Using my active actions, I want the wearer to display and witness a transformation of materiality. My jewelry has a life of its own, and wants to interact with the wearer.
