I am captivated and astonished by the human tendency to collect or simply accumulate objects that have no real “objective” value other than sentimental significance or familiarity through daily use. This tendency could be motivated by a desire to secure a sense of identity as a whole or hold onto an important experience established with a specific individual. I am particularly inspired by people close to me, and the mundane objects that they have used and accumulated which help to define their character, thereby infusing them with a personal presence and greater significance. These objects can signify important aspects of my relationship with and memories of these people.
