Organized by the Fiberarts Guild of Pittsburgh, Inc. this triennial exhibition features 85 exceptional works that are pushing the boundaries of fiber art. Of the total number of works in the show, 22 pieces were produced by artists living outside of the US.

My Walden: New Works by Atticus Adams
(June 25- September 26, 2010)
This exhibition features 15 artworks sculpted from industrial metal mesh by Pittsburgh artist Atticus Adams. Working with shapeless metal mesh screen, and utilizing only a small number of simple tools, Adams pushes, pulls, cuts, stitches, folds and assembles the material into large, fluid sculptures.
EAT: An Art Space about Food
(October 16, 2009 - August 22, 2010)
This installation features the work of Craig Nutt and celebrates the heritage of farming and questions prevailing methods of food production.

Trunk Show: Jim Rose
The Store is excited to announce the arrival of new work by acclaimed furniture maker Jim Rose. Based in Door County, Wisconsin, Jim Rose fabricates beautiful, heirloom quality furniture with reclaimed steel. Inspired by Shaker furniture and quilt cupboards, these pieces are exquisitely crafted and intended for daily use. Meet the artist on Friday, June 25th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and learn more about his inspiration.

The Art of Mokume Gane Patterning
Saturday and Sunday, August 7 and 8, 9 am - 4 pm
(one hour lunch break)
Instructor: Wayne Werner
Experience the beauty of working with Mokume Gane, a Japanese metalsmithing techniques that literally translated into “eye of the wood.” This process manipulates multi-layered billets of different colored metals. The billets are forged, twisted and gauged to produce amazing patterns and textures that resemble wood, smoke and sedimentary layers. Students receive a billet to create either a bracelet, brooch or earrings. Forging, soldering and riveting techniques will be explored as well as etching and coloring. One lucky student will leave with the instructors sample.

Caterpillar Stitch Book
Saturday, August 14, 10 am - 4 pm (one hour lunch break)

Instructor: Mary Tasillo
Students expand their stitching skilld while learning several variations on the Caterpillar Stitch, which does double duty as a binding stitch and as a decorative element to book covers. Leave with a hard cover blank book as well as sewing cards and instructions for carrying out variations on this binding.
