Tag, Badge & Jewelry as Personal Adornment with Robert Ebendorf, Transformation 8 exhibition artist visiting from

Greenville, North Carolina, on Sunday February 5, 2012.


Wood Rings with Daniel DiCaprio, Transformation 8 exhibition and SCC Store artist visiting from Richmond, Virginia, on Sunday February 5, 2012. During this class students will carve rings from blocks of ebony.


Contemporary Twining Basketry Workshop with Ann Coddington Rast, SCC exhibiting artist visiting from Champaign, Illinois, on February 3, 2012. In this workshop, the basketry technique of twining will be introduced. Participants will create a sculptural twined form using waxed linen and spring twine.

Looking for a fun way to earn Act 48

credits? The following workshops help

teachers rediscover their own creativity while learning new techniques and processes. Each workshop provides seven Act 48 credits and information on how to adapt these techniques to your classroom.

Tuition: $150 (includes a box lunch

and materials)


Felted Wall Hangings [TT02W]

instructor: Annie Lawrence

Use merino wool with a variety of trims and

embellishments to create a felted wall

hanging. Learn the basics of felt making,

discuss design ideas and explore methods

for finishing and hanging the piece.


Painted Enamel Panels [TT03W]

instructor: Adrienne Grafton

Working with painted enamels is a fun project that can be included in middle school through high school curriculums. The process allows for lots of personal expression. In this workshop, each teacher completes one panel during the workshop and leaves with tips on including the project in the classroom.


Judge a Book By Its Cover [TT04W]

*instructor: Leisa Rich, Georgia

Create a unique altered book that is a

visual conduit of your personality. Learn

how to easily transfer digital images on to

specially prepared canvas that will be

integrated into the cover of your finished

piece. Embellishment techniques using

found objects will also be included in this

fun and experimental workshop.
