School Programs
In conjunction with each exhibition, a range of multi-cultural, educational programming is available for students and teachers. Group tours in SCC’s gallery encourage seeing, participating in hands-on activities and learning about the innovative use of materials.
Examples of current student programs include “Scavenger Hunts” which help students focus and reflect on the exhibition and “Be the Jury,” a behind-the-scenes look at how exhibitions and shows are juried including how the art is selected. All activities meet the Pennsylvania Academic Standards for the Arts and Humanities.
Teachers can learn various methods for incorporating craft into their curriculum. To complement SCC exhibitions, teachers can sign up for studio workshops and earn ACT 48 credit. For more information contact:
