Thank you for getting Out of Hand!
The Society for Contemporary Craft hosted it's annual benefit, Out of Hand! on March 1, 2008. This year’s event featured demonstrations by Woodturners Anonymous, local ceramicist Justin Rothshank, and Jessica Rutherford from the Pittsburgh Glass Center. Hands on activities included beading with Olga Mihaylova, a polymer clay activity, and shabori scarf dying with board member Julia Sawyer. Guests had their palms read by Michael Mykita and hands decorated with henna art by artist Cynthia and Lia Shaffer. Pat Buckley helped guests bind books while Dave Russell and educators from The Andy Warhol Musuem showed them how to construct assemblage buttons. All this while Steel Impressions jazzed, and rocked our party guests with traditional calypso music. Our live and silent acutions were a success and we would like to thank all those who participated.
