Fiberart Regional '01, an exhibition featuring the work of 12 regional fiber artists, opened at the Society for Contemporary Craft's One Mellon Center Gallery . Organized to complement Fiberarts International '01, on view at SCC and at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts (September 7—October 27, 2001), the exhibition features the work of contemporary regional fiber artists who work in a diverse range of techniques and materials.

The two- and three-dimensional works by these regional artists, Tina Williams Brewer, Michelle Browne, Sande Brown, Adrienne Heinrich, Alyson Holtz, Sharon Keech, Jan Myers Newbury, Cynthia Myerberg, Risë Nagin, Angela Pasquale, Louise Silk and Patty Kennedy-Zafred, break away from traditional notions of fiber and highlight the innovative experimentation taking place in the region.
