The Studio, a 4000-square-foot craft education center, offers classes and workshops for adults and children. Courses in book arts, fiber, metal and wood are a particular focus in The Studio, with distinctive offerings developed around key themes including the urban experience, art and the environment, crossing cultural boundaries, and the artist and process.

Classes are held in three studio spaces on the lower level of SCC on weekdays, evenings and weekends throughout the year. Our Drop-In Studio, an exhibition space for student work, work by instructors and visiting artists, and pieces from our extensive permanent collection are aso included in this space.

New Flexible Options at The Studio:
The Studio at SCC now offers flexible options for taking classes. These options are designed to cater to busy lifestyles that make scheduling time for recreation a sometimes daunting task. The new flexible options include:

One-on-one: Private lessons in many media are arranged on request. Students choose a specific technique or project, or receive a general introduction to the media of their choice. Students discuss their goals wih instructors prior to the lesson to ensure a productive experience. Private lessons are $50 per hour, with a two-hour minimum.
A Few Good Friends: Students bring together a group of friends to participate in a class taught at a convenient time. Students choose from many of SCC's current and past class offerings, or let The Studio design a custom-class. Prices and availability vary.

Classes to Go: SCC brings classes to the students, whether that is at home, at the office, or any other convenient location. Prices and availability vary.
